Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a sharp attack on West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress for their objection to the new legislation brought to remove leaders arrested on serious charges holding top offices, saying such ministers should be in jail and not in power. He appealed to the people of the state to bring about ‘poribortan (change)’ by electing the BJP in next year’s elections.
